Kaikizou (Japanese: 柿蔵) is the captain of ninjas working for the Negoro counterfeiting ring under Ginsa Momochi. He is voiced by Shunsuke Takamiya in the original Japanese version, and voiced by Bob Papenbrook in the English dub.
History[]
As captain of some ninjas, he spied on people attending the brothel (that was the front for the counterfeit ring) and tried to keep out shogunate informants. During their operation, the group finds out that one of their counterfeiters, Otowa Hankichi, is an informant, so they try to capture him but he escapes. As Kaikizou chases him, Otowa manages to bring some counterfeit money with him and throws it into a pond, and Kaikizou re-captures him.
Once Otowa is captured, Kaikizou and his ninjas torture Otowa but he does not tell them anything, realizing that he is likely trained to withstand torture and thus a soldier. Momochi orders Kaikizou to take out Mugen, Jin, and Fuu, but his men cannot find Fuu anywhere. Kaikizou confronts Jin in the middle of the night and asks him where he got the counterfeit money from. When Jin does not answer, Kaikizou and his ninjas strike, but Jin slices him and his men down with ease.
After Mugen and Yatsuha successfully defeat Ginsa and his swordsmen, the shogunate shuts down the counterfeiting ring and arrests Kaikizou along with Momochi.
